#philosophy #regrets
There are some experiences and events we wish we could alter. If we could go back and do it over again, with the knowledge we have now, then of course we would do something different. Regrets evidently arise from negative experiences but one important question remains, are regrets necessary and constructive, or are they more of a hindrance?
In this discussion, I examine whether regrets are necessary for personal development, or personal improvement. Specifically, the difference between making mistakes and acknowledging them versus perpetually regretting the same mistakes is examined. Learning from mistakes is certainly necessary to become a wiser person, but does this imply that we require regrets in order to grow?
